Beginning Obedience A complete program for you and your dog is part of the training class to reinforce and retain the behaviors you and your dog learned. Behaviors you will learn in this class include: Sit Down Off Target (or Touch) Come Stay Leave It  (and/or Drop It) Go To Your Spot (or mark) Recognizing and responding to their name Loose Leash Walking Waiting at Doors and Curbs Polite Greetings of Guests or Strangers This is a 6 week course meeting one hour each week.  The price is $160 for the entire 6 weeks. Classes missed may be made up for those who attend at least 4 of the 6 classes they have signed up for. Improve your training skills by 300% in only 2 hours.     The Precision Timing/Clicker Workshop is recommended for all handlers and is a prerequisite for some of the more advanced classes. Intermediate Obedience – AKC – Canine Good Citizen Testing The Intermediate class prepares you and your dog to pass the AKC – Canine Good Citizen Test. This is a regular Intermediate class, teaching your dog every day skills.  We use the CGC criteria as a goal to reach desired behaviors in public.  It is our syllabus, but it is written by someone other than us. The majority of the dogs that complete the Intermediate Class pass their CGC the first time.  We practice the behaviors you will be expected to complete during the CGC test until you and your dog are comfortable enough to take and pass the test.  If you would like your dog to be more comfortable in public and have a better trust level with you and others, this class will help you achieve that goal.  You do not have to take the AKC – CGC Test to take this class. These behaviors include: Sitting politely for petting and grooming (brush only). Having a stranger pet, brush, and handle your dog’s feet and ears Taking your dog “Out For A Walk” (Loose leash walking exercise) Doing a “sit” and “down” and staying in that position as you walk 20 feet away Staying and then come from 20 feet Walking through a crowd of people and one dog and not try to greet anyone Having you and another person with a dog greet each other and have the dogs sit and not try to meet the person or the dog Be desensitized to strange, loud, and unusual noises and props “Supervised Separation”: Allow a stranger to hold his/her leash and be calm when you leave for 3 minutes This is a 5 week course meeting one hour each week.  The price is $135 for the entire 5 weeks. The CGC testing (if within our group) is free with this class.  Those who did not take our Intermediate Obedience Class pay $25 for the testing.   CGC Testing occurs approximately 4...

Rally Obedience

Rally Obedience is a great next step after you complete your Beginning Obedience Class. Many dogs need to work their behaviors in different environments and circumstances to keep them engaged and focused on you. Rally O is similar to circuit training like you would do at a gym. You and your dog go from cone to cone and perform the behavior asked for at each cone (station). Rally gives you and your dog a challenge by asking behaviors differently than in the regular Beginning Obedience class. Each week there will be a different course for you and your dog. Puppy/Small Dog Class A complete program for you and your dog is part of the training class to reinforce and retain the behaviors you and your dog learn during the class. Behaviors learned in this class include the same as in the Beginning Obedience Class along with confidence building exercises. This includes games and dog to dog, and dog to people socialization. Small fearful dogs are welcome in this class to help them learn to overcome their fears of other dogs. This is a 6 week course meeting one hour each week. The price is $150 for the entire 6 weeks. Confidence Building Through Tricks & Agility Set Your Dog Up For Success: This class is designed for fearful dogs and puppies. We build confidence using agility equipment and trick training which translates into the real world for you and your dog. Playing on the equipment and learning tricks with positive reinforcement helps your dog deal with scary situations. They learn that, with your guidance, they will be safe. This class is great for the reactive dogs as well. Most of the aggression we see is fear aggression due to lack of confidence. Intro To Agility Agility is a fun way for you and your dog to learn new skills, while working together as a team. Agility offers both dog and handler mental and physical stimulation, strengthening the human-animal bond, as you and your dog learn new ways to communicate with each other.
